Strength Training and Sports Conditioning
- If you are an athlete, you probably already know the importance of strength training and sports conditioning. But everyone can benefit from strength training because it helps increase bone density and decrease the risk of injury during normal activities. Carrying groceries, lifting your child, or pushing the lawn mower are just a few examples of everyday tasks that become much easier to do. Or perhaps your job (or one you would like to have) involves lifting or pushing heavy objects. Learning the proper way to do these tasks not only makes them easier, it could save you from being injured.
If you have specialized strength training needs for sports like bodybuilding, football, power lifting, or wrestling, Andrew Bora is uniquely qualified to help you. He is an elite athlete, having competed in the sports of natural bodybuilding and wrestling. Last year, Andrew won two events at the Midwest States competition of the Organization of Competitive Bodybuilders in DeKalb, IL. Natural bodybuilders avoid the use of steroids and similar performance enhancing drugs. They achieve their goals through dedication and hard work in the gym. In order to compete, they must pass rigorous drug and lie detector tests. Andrew has also competed with the New Trier Trevian wrestling team and has served as a volunteer coach with that organization on various occasions.
Even if you’re not a competitive athlete, perhaps you like to go cycling or play a sport like golf or tennis in your leisure time. Strength training can help you excel in your sport and make it more enjoyable for you. Andrew can design a program to address your training needs, from targeting a specific muscle group to strengthening your entire body.
Finally, if you are recovering from an injury that resulted in one part of your body becoming weaker than others, strength training can help restore proper balance. However, you should check with your physician before starting a physical training program to be sure you are ready.
